In today’s fast-paced world, various opinions abound regarding government spending. While some argue that funding should be spent prioritizing elderly care, others advocate for focusing on young generations’s education. In this essay, I will discuss both sides of an argument, and explain my support to the latter view.
Firstly, supporters of emphasizing senior people claim that it offers several significant advantages, such as human rights and the overall standard of living. This might be explained by the fact that in today’s life, with advanced technology, seniors can not work on their own and have difficulty earning money with unhealthy bodies, leading to them living in disadvantaged conditions in their final years. Therefore, the government should invest in enhancing their living standard for them to be entitled to experience these years with respect and a high standard of living. Furthermore, some older people who have contributed to the country need to enjoy benefits worthy of their efforts. That shows our gratitude to them. Old people who are facing health issues require medical attention and specialized care from the government expenditure. For example, Sweden provides extensive support for their senior individuals with comprehensive elderly care systems. As a result, it improved physical and mental well-being for the elderly.
While recognizing the pivotal role of concentrating on elderly health, in modern society, I maintain that the country’s expenses also invest in youth in some fields, especially in education. The primary reason is that they can have some novel innovations in the future that can help their nation and they are the future leaders of all nations. Additionally, education provides young people with the essential skills to make valuable contributions to both the economy and society. For instance, in South Korea, the government of this country extremely focus on education. Because the Educational Ministry has higher spending than the others, they always renew their curriculums to keep up with the changes of the times. The teachers and educated people in this place are respected by other people because they think these people can help their country enhance and create original inventions. Korea is a country that has the percentage of graduates than others, leading to a highly skilled workforce. Therefore, it is evidence that this stimulates economic expansion and fosters entrepreneurship. Another point to consider is the equality between people. Education access can facilitate the narrowing of disparities among diverse socioeconomic groups. In Vietnam, the government implements initiatives with the objective of delivering education to children residing in rural regions. Therefore, every child in Vietnam has the same opportunities to study like other children.
In conclusion, although both views certainly have some validity, it seems to me that it is better to emphasize education for juniors to make their nations better in the future with creative inventions.
