In the current epoch, while proponents hold the view that officials should invest in paintings and art for public spaces, others hold a diverse perspective. I disagree with the former view and believe that the government should allocate funds for education because it prevents economic recession and boosts individuals’ financial positions.
On the hand, critics opine that investing in art may foster the number of tourists visiting the country. To illustrate, when sightseers come across many paintings on the internet, they may visit this country due to the outstanding sculptures. A prominent example of this is Egypt, which allocates a high proportion of its budget to the tourism sector and gains high revenues due to the tourism sector. Thus, what can be said is that allocating an appropriate percentage of the budget to the tourism sector may be vital for the economy to thrive.
On the other hand, opponents and I believe that officials should prioritize the funding because health care sectors and education deserve enormous funds. In other words, if officials give a higher priority to funding hospitals and universities, the mortality and morbidity rates will dwindle. For example, the United States of America, which has high budgets for education and state-of-the-art research equipment, unveils medications for malignant diseases, including cancer. Therefore, what can be suggested is that investing in education has a myriad of merits for individuals and countries.
In conclusion, after the essay has manifested the above-mentioned points, it can be reiterated that even though collecting money for art may prevent the economy from stagnating, investing in educational amenities and health sectors will boost revenues compared to the tourism sector. Therefore, I believe that allocating money for the education of junior and senior citizens is paramount because it leads to innovations and allows the economy to flourish.
