Tourism growth has become a subject of debate in recent years. I partially support the given viewpoint, and my arguments will be elaborated in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, tourism plays a vital role in countributing to a country’s econimic devolepment. To be more specific, people travel abroad for vacations, which can lead to increased revenue. Additionally, tourism creates job opportunites for local residents and support the local economy. For instance, Italy attracted a large number of tourists from all over the world, which generates employment for local residents, such as tour guides, waiters and receptionists.
On the other hand, tourism can lead to environmental pollution and overcrowding. In other words, cities such as Paris and Venice face overcrowding due to a large number of tourists, which increases pollution levels such as carbon emissions and contamination. Secondly, this situation can lead to an increased cost of living for local residents. For example, landlords are more likely to rent their properties to tourists, as they can earn higher profits from short-term rentals and this situation can lead to increses rental cost for local people.
In conclusion, while I accept that tourism give a negative effect for local people and atmosphere, I also hold the view that tourism can lead to positive effect for people such as jobs and revenue. If the government and individuals support the tourism sector, everyone can benefit from it.
