In this century, technology has played vital roles in many aspects of life. The development of technologies has canged the way of systems in many fields, such as industry, health, environment, etc. While some believe that the increasing use of technology in the workplace is beneficial for productivity, others argue it can lead to job losses and reduce human interaction. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own viewpoint.
On one hand, technology plays a crucial function in increasing productivity in many fields. Some work can be done easily with more sophisticated tools. For example, in industrial field, company can reduce the production times, energy and expenditure, making their product efficiently and increasing their profits. Another example, in health field, with better equipments, doctors can diagnose disease more easily. We don’t need to wait too long for receiving the result of the diagnose. So that, technology brings many changes in growing our work efficiency.
On the other hand, this development also has several drowbacks for workforce. Many of them loss their jobs because they were replaced by machines. Companies prefer to add more equipments in order to improving their output and profits. Not only it can reduce their expenses, but it also more productive to use a machine that is equivalent to the power of five people. This also can decrease human interaction, doing the job with machine every day leads to loss interaction with other people. The growth of Artificial Intelligent (AI) nowadays worsens this issue, people tend to ask for AI when they need some information than asking for others. This thing, surely becomes a new problem that need to be faced.
In my opinion, a balanced betwen technologies usage and the utilization of human resources is essential in organizing workplace. We can’t deny that we need modern equipments, but we also need experts to manage and maintain those tools. It’s better to combine these two aspects to improve firm’s productivity. About human interaction, I think if the balanced has already been reached, people will tend to cooperate and trust each other, so their communication will well connected.
