Criminals are very evil people, whatever their motivation for committing it, they should think after they do. First, there should be fixed punishments for each type of crime, the reason why is the criminals do the different crime, they shouldn’t get the same punishments. Second, they need to decide the punishments of the motivation for committing it because they might just want to protect themselves. In my opinion I think we need to consider when deciding on the punishment. In this essay, I will elaborate that both these views and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, we can see that there should be fixed punishments for each type of crime. For instance, Victor David and Stephen Kerr, they did the different type of crime, one guy was killing a person, other guy is stealing the money. Which means both guys can’t get the same punishments, if they get the same that nobody will trust the laws and judge.
On the other hand, we can notice that they need to decide the punishment of the motivation for committing it. For example, after a long day of work, a guy wants to go home and sleep, but he meets a robber and robber try to kill him. Fortunately, he has a gun, and he shoots a robber. That the reason why they need to decide the punishments on motivation. He just wants to protect himself.
In my opinion, they need to change the punishments for different crime. It is impossible people do the small or big crime, and they get the same punishments. They need to change this role until all the citizens and governors accept it.
In conclusion, I think government should fixed punishments for each type of crime, and also check the motivation for the circumstances of an individual crime, they should always be taken into account when deciding on the punishment.
