Many people believe that there should be a fixed punishment for each type of crime. However, some people say that the circumstances of each crime and the motive for committing the crime should be considered when determining the punishment. In my opinion, a crime is a crime, and of course there are justifiable reasons for committing a crime, but I think that crime should not be committed.
First, many people think that there should be a fixed punishment for each type of crime. I agree. There are various types of crime. There is murder, and there is theft. There are many reasons why punishment is absolutely necessary when a crime is committed. In Korea, even if you go to prison for murder, you can get out after a few years. So many people think that if they kill someone and get out after a few years, they should just go to prison and come back. That is why many crimes occur, and I think that strong fixed punishment is necessary to prevent those crimes.
Second, many people think that the circumstances of an individual crime and the motive for committing the crime should always be considered when determining punishment. If you are just taking revenge because of mild ill feelings toward that person, then it is just a crime. However, if that person has hurt you so much that the ill feelings are very heavy, then I think it is worth considering. You can listen to the person’s story and consider it to determine a light punishment. However, a crime is a crime, so no matter how light the punishment is, it will not be an extremely light punishment.
In conclusion, people may have different opinions, but what I think is that crimes are crimes and should be punished severely.
