Nowadays Kazakhstan higher institutions tries to implement competence-based education to develop learner autonomy, while facing a major challenges by changing circumstances. Reason of that problem, back in two decades Kazakhstan learning system was mostly traditional. This essay will discuss challenges of implementation, and the most suitable solutions of competence-based education in learning process.
One of the main challenges reshaping educational practices, is that some institutions can not afford digital resources. Many universities was built in twentieth century, there were only classroom tables and board which is totally normal for teacher- centered learning. For instance every class started with teacher command, directed the process of learning and people had limited access to authentic materials . The next main cause would be teachers adaptation to new methods and modern tools. They need adaptability in technology-rich classrooms. Although some teachers can work with technical infrastructure but with lack of practical training.
One way to tackle these issues is to adopt an innovative approach, promote active learning with IT specialists and integrate technology into daily basis. All universities should be taught their employees to break a bridge among students and teachers. They should strike a balance between theory and practice. Usage of artificial intelligence, digital tools and two-side discussion is another solution to encouraging these young people to maintain motivation, also develop critical thinking skills.
In conclusion, by these kind of solutions would help to develop gradually competence-based education in higher institutions over time. I believe in the future Kazakhstan institutions would improve access with greater personalization.
