In contemporary world, due to the appereance of different technologies, the old-fashioned hobbies have dramaticly dropped. One of them is reading books, in recent years there are less people who interested in it, than it was before. What reasons caused this problem, and how people can engourage children to read more?
First of all, smartphones, internet, and social media have the greatest impact. Nowadays, individuals got used to watching short videos; consequently, humans have became less concentrated, that distrubs from long-term projects. For instance, pupil who read every day before going to school, will be more disciplined, compared to the one who had not done the same. As a result, first student may show better academic results, because they have discipline, which affect their study efficiency.
However, there can be some ways of encouraging youngsters to read more, and i will discuss one of them. The first one, lay all the responsobilities on the government’s concernment; if they organise some competitions, it will raise the level of reading in the country. For example, in Kazakhstan, there have been founded the competition called “The reading nation” since last year, it encourages hundreds of citizens to read different books, such as historical, motivational and foreign; there were financial prizes for the winners. Accordingly, all childrens, their parents and employees took part in it, and the rate of reading has increased.
In conclusion, we all should popularize this kind of activity; it is not just important, books make us more intellegent and competent. Therefore, the governments can also influence, and make their residents to read more.
