While i agree that excessive smartphone use can decrease face to face communication, i believe that digital transformation also helps people always connect with others over long distance.

Consequently, many people tend to spend their time on social media, and often become less engaged in real life activities. As a result, their social and communication skills may decline because they always waste their time on smartphones. Moreover, individuals may ignore their health, for instance, they spend excessive amounts of time using their phone until they forget to eat.
On the other hand, technology development offers convenience in daily life, such as they can keep their relationships even they are far away each other, because this technology provides people to keep updates each others. They can communicate through video call or simply sending messages. Therefore, it helps individuals maintain relationships with their family or friends in different countries. For example, pupils who study abroad can always connect to their family via video call.
