Nowadays, television plays a big role in children’s lives. Some people think it has a bad influence on them, while others believe it can be helpful for learning. In my opinion, TV can be both harmful and educational depending on how it is used. It entertains children, but at the same time can affect their behaviour and health.
One positive side of watching TV is that it can help children learn new things in an interesting way. There are many educational programmes about nature, science and languages that can develop their knowledge. For example, children who watch shows about animals or history can become more curious and creative. Moreover, it helps them relax after school and spend time with their family.
However, there are also negative effects. Watching TV for too long can make children lazy and reduce their physical activity. As a result, it may lead to health problems such as poor eyesight or obesity. In addition, some TV shows include violence or bad language, which can influence children’s behaviour. Therefore, parents should control what and how much their kids watch.
To conclude, television can be both good and bad for children. I believe it is useful if parents choose educational content and limit screen time. In this way, kids can enjoy watching TV and learn something valuable at the same time.
