Nowadays, having a kid at an older age is a popular choice for many people. In my point of view, this trend fosters substantially more advantages than drawbacks. Furthermore, there are numerous reasons behind this trend, including insurance for the kid’s future and achieving personal goals.
In terms of the reasons, firstly, having a child when people are older might be a way to benefit the kid’s life. Young married couples, who are struggling with their finance, cannot afford their child’s well-being, for example, schools, diets, …. A kid being born in those circumstances can face serious physical and mental health problems such as lacking care or insufficient nutritions. Secondly, ambitious people can spend more time to foster their personal careers rather than taking care of their toddlers. They need to try every oppotunities they encounter to find out which one is the best for the future.
Regarding the dominating benefits this trend can bring up, first and foremost, kids being born in successful families have a higher chance of having a sustainable future. They will be provided with better amenities such as well-educated environment, healthy meals, … as their parents can afford because of their hard-working time in the past. Secondly, rather than taking care of a baby, which is extremely time-consuming, people can use that part of their life to seek better employment. Once the chance shows up, they can grab it and turn it into a way to benefit their career path and even their child in the future.
In conclusion, I firmly believe people having their first kid can foster advantages rather than drawbacks to not only ones’ career but also to their child in terms of various reasons.
