People have different views about adults staying with their parents’ homes as opposed to staying with them. While there can be some benefits to living with parents, I believe that living independently is usually more effective.
On the other hand, one’s decision to stay with parents after becoming an adult can be advantageous for some reasons, one of which is a safer transition to adulthood. In other words, since parents and children live together, they can share household expenses, such as paying taxes and utility bills, which is helpful for them to stabilize and develop their financial situation. Moreover, parents themselves will be at an advantage, as they will have caregivers when they get older. Their offspring can shoulder the responsibility of tending to their personal and medical needs, which is the biggest concern for most parents. Not only does this benefit them individually, but also their community, since this helps to reduce the number of the elderly who are left without care.
Having said that I would encourage the youth to move out upon becoming adults. Firstly, living independently is indeed the biggest step towards maturity. Having moved out, young generations may learn to cope with daily issues such as paying bills and managing housework by themselves. These are essential skills that must be learned before marriage. Apart from that as people grow older, they will need more personal space, primarily for socialization, and when live on their own, they can safely bring their friends home without disturbing their parents, which is highly appreciated by the majority of them, especially at older ages.
In conclusion, despite sharing an accommodation with parents over 18 can be positive for some reasons, I would recommend younger generations to try to live on their own.
