A group of people thinks that companies and grocery stores should take the responsibility of reducing the product packaging while others argue that customers should be the ones who take the decision. In my opinion, I believe that producers are the ones who have to take action since it can benefit both individuals and companies.
Nowadays, one of the reasons that greenhouse gases emitted are caused by rubbish which commonly are from packaging of goods. For instance, a popular snack brand Sneakers sells their treats in a variety sizes, from mini to large size. According to the mini size sneakers, one pack contains ten mini chocolate bars, and each bar is covered with plastic packaging. Giving buyers responsibility can raise awareness about preserving the environment and global warming issues. Nevertheless, people’s preference is the uncontrollable thing leading to the same behavior. Therefore, these advantages still reveal some flaws.
On the other hand, I believe the manufacturers should take the responsibility since it can provide positive results to both industries and consumers. Minimizing the amount of packaging can reduce product cost, which can increase companies profits. Moreover, manufacturers can also lower the price in order to attract more consumers, and people are able to buy goods at an affordable price as well. Consequently, providing action to the manufacturers will not just only benefit individuals and companies itself but also the environment.
In conclusion, taking responsibility by consumers can have positive effects such as raising awareness about negative impacts when buying products with many packaging. However, long term advantages can happen by companies taking responsibility since it benefits buyers, industries and earth.
