In recent years the importance of using energy-efficient ways to commute has become incredibly important around the world. Some people rather use electric or hybrid cars than the traditional diesel ones due to their less adverse impact on the environment. However, others prefer travelling by public transport as it offers convenience and affordability, and that includes myself.
I personally advocate for the usage of public transportation getting around by the extensive network of buses and trains. One of the reasons is that these services have been modernized largely due to technological developments, which makes travelling quite comfortable and enjoyable. They can also provide a stress-free journey in contrast to private car ownership, as I can enjoy a good book or listen to music without having to focus on the road.
Additionally, by using public transport I can contribute to less congestion on the roads and lower carbon emissions per passenger supporting environmental sustainability. Moreover, as a result of the well connected infrastructure and separate roads designed for buses, my travel time may be less as opposed to driving a car, especially during peak hours.
Finally, public transportation promotes social equity by allowing mobility for all, regardless of income. These services are affordable and cost-effective, whilst owning a private car can come with substantial maintenance costs including insurance, services or parking fees.
In conclusion, while travelling by private vehicles has its undeniable benefits, such as personal freedom and not having to adhere to strict schedules, I prefer commuting via public transportation which allows me to contribute to the environmental sustainability whilst enjoying a stress-free and affordable way of travel.
