Nowadays more and more people live with thoughts that doctors can treat all diseases, consequently they are not used to taking care of themselves. However medics sometimes may be overstretched and not be spending time with the patients who most need their help.
Nevertheless I think there are two possible solutions to this problem. Firstly, society relies on educational programmes. People need education to help them take responsibility for their own health. If humans knew some basic approaches to self-care treatment irrespective of kind of illness, doctors would get hung up with patients who really need their time. Of course doctors and medicine are not pointless, but sometimes people sugarcoat their insignificant symptoms which could be reduced by the right way of life. Self-treatment must become a commonplace.
Secondly, people need to do check-ups regularly. People attend doctors only when they feel pain or even put off visiting a clinic , but it isn’t proper, because some diseases are asymptomatic. If people visited their doctor more often, as a consequence more health problems could be detected early and treated before they became serious. Humans need to visit doctors two times a year, for example in winter and summer. For example, there are some clinics with special programs of health checks, where reminding their patients of going to clinics is a commitment. I think this practice should be involved in all types of hospitals, even free. At the same time people should understand they only themselves must take care of their bodies and health.
As a result, steady check-ups and some educational programs of treating yourself will decrease people’s visits to doctors
