Surveys show that some people often rely on doctors, so much so that it becomes unhealthy. These people think that all health issues can be settled by going to the doctors. This essay is going to address some of the possible problems that can come out of this issue, as well as provide some solutions.
To start, it is undeniable that doctors play a crucial role in helping public healthcare. However, some people think that all health-related issues can be fixed by going to the clinic, but this is not the case as minor health issues can be treated at home. This perception is usually due to a lack of proper education, specifically in developing nations. Additionally, this over-reliance on doctors can cause major issues, especially with the lack of professional human resources in third-world countries. Having more patients to deal with while managing a very small number of medical expertise can definitely lead to unwanted scenarios. For example, the lack of medical care able to be provided by hospitals due to the influx of patients in Indonesia have probably lost more lives than saved.
That being said, there are solutions to this problem. One of them is to encourage and educate the public to analyze their own conditions before going to a hospital or clinic. With the public being more knowledgeable about possible conditions and diagnosis, they will be more prone to understand which conditions should be prioritized; knowing what diagnosis needs a medical professional, and which ones can be treated independently.
In summary, the people’s excessive dependence on medical professionals can cause major issues for healthcare providers due to its lack of professional workers. However, this can be reduced by taking some small measures such as socializing educating materials to the public.
