I am in favor of the notion of being a university degree holder with skills in the respective field. For instance, an IT expert when required is advertised with the relevant degree. Being in university equips you with team work, leadership and critical thinking. Where diverse culture of people with different backgrounds educates you in public interaction. Furthermore, impressive commucation to sell your services online or at a workplace physically, is possible more likely for a universty degree holder rather a skilled one. Just imagine, a job is posted on website where a software house is looking for a candidate who is expert in Java script and can deal international companies to sell its products. Positively, a university graduate can better fit for the position offered.
On the other hand, being skillful without a degree would not expand exposure as that of an educated individual. Unpresentable personality with skills may help you get job for a family enterprise or small business but cannot help you participate in an international organizational setting.
