After the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected human lives, it has come to the general public’s perception that diseases are still an enormous threat to our existence. Nowadays, many people observe that disease and illness should be addressed more by the government by decreasing environmental pollution and housing issues. I totally agree with this initiative, as these environmental problems can cause various health issues.
Firstly, environmental pollution means that many factories in urban areas release their untreated waste into rivers. Therefore, people use this source of water to drink, and they feel that their health is not good. Doctors have provided a diagnosis showing that most cancer patients used unpurified water. It is worth immediately addressing the issues that the government needs to draw greater attention to. For instance, many laws regarding the treatment of factory waste are being obeyed by citizens. The legal responsibility for illegal dumping of pollutants into rivers also needs to be improved.
Secondly, housing problems are a major reason leading to the decreasing of human health levels. In many parts of the world, a significant number of people still live under poor conditions. They do not have the ability to access immediate healthcare services. The only way to exist is by using outdated remedies and treatments. Living in unsanitary conditions makes them more susceptible to illness, especially skin and gastrointestinal diseases. India, which has the largest population in the world, has many people using unclear sources of water, mostly from the Ganges River. People consume the polluted water, which has changed its color due to fumes and dust. As a result, they have health issues. This emphasizes the need for the government to have a particular solution to solve this problem. Each individual’s housing needs to be more of a concern, and they should be provided with better living conditions.
In conclusion, illness and disease still have negative consequences, and they cannot disappear, but people can control and reduce their effect by increasing awareness of pollution.
