On the one hand, advocates for parents’ engagement emphasize the importance of family connection. Transporting children to school is not just a duty to adults, it is also a valuable opportunity for family conversations. Sharing daily stories at schools, in the workplaces, and around the neighborhoods can be both relaxing and engaging to family members. As a result, relationships between parents and children are strengthened since they understand more about each other’s pressure both at schools and in the offices. In addition to this, teenagers can also receive useful advice, which can help them maintain good connections with other classmates and teachers at school. From these arguments, taking children to schools should be the role of parents.
Nevertheless, other people still support governments since they have adequate resources and facilities to commute students to schools. Since not every household can afford personal vehicles due to financial constraints, government support is way more effective in this case. Low-cost public buses and free subway tickets are essential in helping children get to schools, ensuring that every student has access to education despite geographical difficulty. For this reason, I firmly believe that governments should play an active role in transporting children to schools, while parental involvement is still necessary. Since not all parents have time to take their children to schools, public vehicles are effective alternatives. And although the cost of such an approach can be costly, the social benefits in terms of education accessibility are more significant and outweigh the economic disadvantages.
In conclusion, commuting students to schools should be the main duty of governments, while parents still carry it if possible. This ensures widespread access to education despite geographical barriers, while still leaving time for family connection between family members.
