Band 5+: Some people say libraries are important in society as a place to get information and use books. Others say as computers are advanced, libraries are a waste of money and recourses. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Opinions are divided on this issue: some argue that the libraries play indispensible role as a place where people can access the information sources, while others believe that developed technology and high-tech computers can easily replace libraries without wasting money and resources. While both perspectives have merit, this essay argues that the libraries are still appropriate place to get new information is more convincing.

On the one hand, many people support the view that the advanced computers can replace libraries has clear merits. This is largely because the computers can allow an instant access to any kind of information available on the web. As a result, people do not have neccessity to go or visit libraries to get the information they need. For example, to get the exact part of information through computers, people need to click some buttons and they could have what they were searching, meanwhile to do it in a libraries, they need to go there first and find the appropriate book that possibly contain the neccesary information. This demonstrates why some people hold this position.

On the other hand, others contend that the atmosphere and effort given to find a neccesary information or book in libraries worth of it. Supporters of this view point out that the visiting libraries in search of a new information or book, gives people more feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction when they find it. This, in turn, means that the learning atmosphere improves with the enthusiasm for studying alongside. For instance, if people visit libraries and spent their time in labraries they tend to get more of which is also has it’s advantages on their cognitive skills with better focus without notifications, which is a big problem while using computersm. In my view, this argument is ultimately more persuasive.

In conclusion, while both views carry weight, I side with the statement that libraries should not be replaced by high-tech devices, but instead it would be more compeling to see their integration in libraries which makes it perfect place of getting new information.
