There is a debate on whether spending time on building a career is more necessary or investing more time in family activities is more important. While putting efforts in work benefits a person’s development, I believe that strengthening the relationship between family’s members through family activities is more valuable.
On the one hand, one who takes more time to work, have more chance exploring and pursuing their own passion. By concentrating more efficiently on career objectives, one will now can evaluate themselves after any tasks they have been through. This can result in deeper understanding of one’s self, therefore, one can learn from mistakes and make more values. For example, successful entrepreneurs tend to spend more time working than commoners. This might be the reason why they are more persistent trying to fullfill their own purposes, which make them become amirable .
Nevertheless, spending more time on family activities is a better way for people to connect with their children and parents. Family members now can share their own inner thoughts, expressing ideas comfortably while playing family’s games, which hardly can be achieved under normal circumstances. By exchanging thoughts, parents and children may understand others’s difficulties and thus build closer relationships. Taking sports for example, playing sports requires cooperation between players which can make parents and children become attached. This is because playing sports builds a relaxed environment for children to express their thought, even sensitive topics, which is a oppurtunity to make strong family bond.
To sum up, while spending more time on work is benificial to personal development, it is undeniable that building family relationship by doing different activities together is more important.
