The debate around the role of pharmaceutical companies is often include whether they make money or do charity operations for poorer countries. In my opinion, even though any drug company need money to survive, it is essential to participating in the global health viability, which is an urgent duty.
On a profitability side, drug company must make profit to spread its moral obligation in vast majority of areas. In other words, it is evident that drug companies are controlled by shareholders, whose always would rather their profit, actually pure income, than global health so it can be done by investing in wealthy nations. Moreover, searching and producing new medicine or cure have a necessary urgent to billions of budgets, provided by stockholders, prove that the role of profit could not be ignored. For instance, Corona virus one of the real examples, spent a huge amount of money to search, test and viral, and took 2 years to spread it in whole world. Therefore, it is claimed that without investing it more likely take times to discover any tablet let alone vaccine.
On the other hand, the humanitarian aid in poverty-sicken districts must take into considering due to this reason that improves the sense of health viability equality. It means that, while poorer people, in poorer countries like Africa, are still suffered by virous like malaria that cured by physician many decades age, it shows inequality. For addressing health issues, the governments and international organizations should consider rewards, like tax breaks or subsidies, to incentivize drug companies to participate in humanitarian aids as well as decrease the health viability disparities.
In my point of view, it is better to take a struck balance between making profit and global health. As it is believed that helping and leaving no stone unturned to address health issues in poorer nations need massive money. Thus, the higher income the pharmaceutical companies have, the poorer nation managed to treat by drugs. In terms of providing sufficient budgets for not wealth-off areas, invests in wealth areas plays a substantial role.
In conclusion, despite the significant role of making money for drug companies, treating zero income nations ought to take into account by pharmaceutic companies. In my perspective, I firmly believe that these approaches, profit and human aid, are necessary for each other.
