Nowadays, a growing number of individuals argue that states are unable to support people around the globe. They believe that governments should provide assistance to their own area. I firmly agree with this statement, first of all politicians should take care of their own homeland.
On the one hand, strengthening international relationships between nations is beneficial. By providing support to other territories, governments could create worthwhile networks on a global scale, such as trade partnerships, security alliances and educational exchange programmes. These forms of cooperation not only greatly boost economical growth, but also promote cultural understanding among different societies. As a result, countries become more politically stable and economically resilient, because they can rely on each other in times of crisis.
On the other hand, governments collect taxes from their own population, and these funds should be used to improve domestic infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare. Citizens expect their governments to address local problems, such as poverty, unemployment, or inadequate public services. If a government spends too much on foreign assistance, it may neglect pressing domestic issues, which can lead to social dissatisfaction and political instability. Secondly, investing in the nation’s own development can have long-term benefits for both the economy and society. For example, improvements in educational sphere can boost nation’s literacy, which is an important factor in today’s world.
In conclusion, although there are some advantages of providing support to other nations, I believe that government mainly should prioritize their citizen’s demand and improvement of their own country.
