In the twenty-first century many people think that it is not necessary to show kids how to write with the pen, due to a technology development. We need to admit that we tend to use our electronical devices to write or print some textes, messages, letters, etc. However, I think that teaching children about the skills of handwriting is still quite essential. There are several arguements to illustrate why I think so.
Firstly, handwriting develops our ability to use our fine motor skills, which is important to out brain work and our ability to control our own body in generall. Usually small children are taught to write in elementary school, so they could write their own names, adressess, control how accurate they can produce letters and numbers. Moreover, while people write some textes, they develop their reading skills, so they could read some books easier then those, who can not write.
Secondly, in cases of emergency we may not have our mobile phones or computers with us, so we need to get back to pen and paper, there you will need your handwriting skills. For instance, when we need to write an information at school, but out handys are out of reach, or even when our handys are not charged, so we can not write there some necessary information.
In conclusion, even though we live in a modern age, it is important to teach children to handwrite, because even when we tend to use handwriting less, we may still need it. So, in my opinion, every child should be taught at school or at home how to write and why it is so necessary.
