In this contemporary era, it is been opine by people that we get reflection of individual’s culture and personality from the type of clothes they wear. This essay will elucidate my disagreement with the above notion in subsequent paragraphs, along with a reasoned conclusion.
First and the foremost, as globalization is increasing at alarming rate and with this the way people interact with each other is also changing, as they get fashion updates from television shows and their international friends whom they met on social media platforms, resultingly every person’s wardrobe look similar. Owing to the fact, we cannot make any judgement based on the way people dress up. For instance, many teenagers across globe wearing same kind of attire to look stylish and cool, in this scenario it is difficult to get information from which culture and country they belongs too. Hence, above example vividly illustrate my reason of not supporting this idea.
Secondly, people are much more flexible, always trying to do something new and they adapt/learn things very quickly. As a result, they are adopting western culture and try modern dresses according to their comfort zone. To exemplify, In Punjab, women used to wear traditional clothes consisting of long-tunic kameez with loose pants known as ‘Salwar Kameez’ and but with modernization they have started wearing t-shirts and lowers to make them feel comfortable. Thus, the above confabulation substantiate my disfavor to this trend.
To recapitulate, it is axiomatic from above discussion that we cannot judge person based upon their attire, owing to the fact there is continual increase in globalization and modernization, leads to exchange of fashion and style.
