Nowadays, people often debate that most of the academic institutions are unable to teach health education properly. This is because there are many additional courses to teach in curriculum, so they emphasize health education less. I firmly support the statement, followed by the weakness with evidences and examples, supported by the contrastive conclusion at the end.
Furthermore, school actually are unable to teach health education properly. As an evidence, there are many other subject that devour health education. This means that academic institute focus mainly to core academic subjects such as English, Science, Mathematics and Social studies than any other subject like health. Schools tends to give more teaching hours and priority to other core subjects as they are considered more important from exam point of view and future success. As a result, health education is often treated as secondary subject or given less importance. So, due to lack of knowledge they are unable to teach practically.
On the other hand, school teach health education as a subject. Health education is included in school curriculum and students are taught about topics like personal hygiene, nutrition, and balance diet. However, it is less prioritize compared to other core subjects. This means teachers focus mainly on completing the syllabus rather than focusing on practical activities and, fail to apply on their daily lives. Schools include health education as a subject but, unable to apply those learnings effectively and practically for developing students overall health.
In conclusion, health education is important but not taught properly. So, all the schools, parents, teachers and community should cooperate to provide more effective and practical health education.
