In the contemporary period, one of the most widely debated topics is the impact of sports on people’s lives, while others argue for the benefits of leisure activities. In this essay, I will explain both sides of the argument and share my own perspective supported by relevant statements.
On one hand, some individuals believe that sports are a crucial activity that significantly influences human communication and relationships. For example, data from a survey by the NSHO shows that 93% of people who support an active lifestyle are more sociable than others.
On the other hand, many argue that people engage in sports primarily for enjoyment and to pass the time. Furthermore, they believe that, while sports may not play an essential role in their lifestyle, they can positively affect self-confidence. For instance, research conducted by Ceyms and Lark indicates that people who participate in sports tend to exhibit greater confidence.
In conclusion, as we have observed, there is no unanimous opinion about sports. Despite the differing views, I tend to believe that sports play a significant role in our physical and mental health. When individuals engage in sports regularly, they develop strength, discipline, confidence, and social skills.
