“Modern devices such as mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives. However, there is a strong debate on how these devices may impact personality traits. Personally, I believe that excessive use of these widgets can have adverse effects on health and personality. In the following paragraphs, I intend to support my opinion by stating arguments and examples.

It is well known that every person from 7 to 70 years possesses a mobile phone, or some kind of device such as laptops, iPads, and others. This has led to increased engagement, especially among youngsters and teenagers, in social media. An example of this is the trend of children and teens creating cringe-inducing videos for their online profiles, which may negatively impact their mental well-being. Additionally, there are individuals who suffer from health issues due to extensive use of these devices. Many people develop habits of using devices from morning until evening. For instance, my cousin recently purchased a new phone and now uses it for 10 to 15 hours each day. The result is that he has become stressed, experiences memory issues, and is facing deteriorating eyesight.

However, I acknowledge that there are many benefits to using devices. People of all ages can use these devices to learn languages and access educational content via social media. For example, a relative of mine self-studied English, practiced for 3 months, and achieved a 7-band score in the IELTS exam. Moreover, the use of mobile phones and social media can assist in various situations, such as engaging in online university classes, where they enable students to communicate with teachers and classmates. Consequently, students are able to participate in class discussions and interact with their peers and instructors in online lessons.

In conclusion, it may be said that modern widgets, if used excessively, can have detrimental effects on health and well-being. While these widgets offer benefits, it is crucial to maintain a balance and be mindful of the potential drawbacks.
