Some people argue that television is not good for children while other say the opposite of this. I partially agree with this statement. This essay will explore that how the issues related to health and time are attributed to excessive use of television and through proper planning and supervised use these can be tackled.
Firstly, television can be used as a mean of communictaion for academic purposes in the form of online classes and knowledgeable TV channels. Furthermore, some documentries over Discovery and National Geographic can add further to this cause. Some sort of entertainemnt in between the busy life schedule is also provided through cartoons and animated videos. Thus a supervised use can be fruitful with a positive impact.
The advocates of the concept that TV is only having harmful effects over children argue that it can effect health such as eyesight and mental growth of the children. In addition, it is a wastage precious time as well. Many obscene movies and serials will lead to negative impact over the growth of the children.
Mental growth and development of a child can be augmented with judicious use of latest electronic gadgets in adjunct to other elctronic gadgets. The detrimental effect of these devices can be reduced through guidance and support by the parents or guardians.
To sum up, a sweeping statement cannot be given in favour of any of the two groups. A deliberate misuse on part of children is preventable with proper planning and a conservative approach to cut off children from the latest ongoing advanced modes of learning is not an applicable solution in this era.
