In the present time, people are getting more addicted towards a tobacco product, which leads to a heavy damage in health of human being as well as it also pollutes the environment. A group of individuals believes that smoking in public should make illegal, which is the effective technique to control the smoking habits. While some people argue that strict actions should be decided to overcome this problem. If question, I agree with latter viewpoint. Therefore, before presenting my position, both the viewpoint will be discussed in the essay.
Firstly, announcing smoking illegal in public may control a few criteria of smoking, where the people will avoid smoking in public and start smoking at their own places. This step gives very less impact in the society to discourage smoking. Therefore, government should handle this problem from the root cause. For example, In Japan, Authorities banned liquor consumption in public places, as result people started to drink alcohol at their resident.
On the other hand, if a governing body formulate strict regulations toward such products that may control the consumption of smoke. Those mandatory acts such as age verification, higher tax on tobacco items, awareness programs in schools and universities help to give effective output towards discouraging smoking. In addition, there should be a ban on tobacco contains goods at some places which encourage the people to quit the smoking. For instance, University of Coma introduces a regulatory act of tobacco which contain several guidelines for the students who consume tobacco. The act contains rules regarding minimum age of an individual, places for smoke zone and penalty for violation of rules.
In conclusion, banning public smoking gives very limited outcomes, while for solving this issue from roots cause bring effective result. In my opinion, I believe that other strict actions should be taken to control this addiction which is been discussed in the essay.
