Band 5+: Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed by some that the main purpose of advertising is incresing the profit. I completely agree with this idea as it can bring opportunities to enhance their products and other aims are not beneficial.

It is obvious that when companies promote their products, they only aim at selling more products. By doing so, they can gain more revenue from those sold goods. If they have enough money, they can improve the quality of their product. As a result, enhanced products can attract a great number of customers. For instance, companies such as Samsung, Apple and Nike get most of their customers by their commercials.

Furthermore, advertising may have other purposes too. However, they might not be beneficial for the company. For example, if the publicity is only for entertainment, it may benefit watchers, but not manufacturers. That means, the money spend on making advertisements might be wasted. Once companies decide to promote themselves, their primary motive should be increasing the sales. Therefore, this is a primary goal in advertising.

To conclude, I strongly agree with the notion that companies should prioritize improving sales, because they can improve their products and other purposes are useless

Advertising plays a crucial role in modern consumerism, influencing people’s purchasing decisions. In modern times, some argue that the initial purpose of advertising is to boost sales with low-grade products that are not truly necessary for customers. Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.

In today’s competitive market, brands and organizations are dumping millions, if not billions, of dollars into marketing schemes and advertising campaigns to promote their images and boost sales. One school of thoughts contend that sales of unnecessary products are the main drivers of these costly advertising endeavors. Acknowledging the reasonings behind the argument, I would […]
