Many individuals argue that the authorities must have censorship over what is published on the internet due to the spreed of terrifing content.Although I deeply value the freedom of speech,I think the government has the right to censor what is published online in order to protect society from the dreadful effect of some internet content.
First of all,unfiltered content had a catastrophic impact on certain age groups , as it can deeply harm how their brains are wired.For example,adolescence could exprience long eposides of deepression and anxiety due to dangrous photos or videos on rhe internet. Children would likely have the desire to memic violence ,which they had watched it online.
Hateful content could spreed easily and would probably increase the incidence of hate crimes aganist minorities. For example, spreeding hateful videos on youtube against certain groups of society like jews ,muslims , and immigrants,that could fuel antisemitic , islamophpic and xenophopia attacks, which unsurprisely are dramticaly rise in the age of internet,
Some would argue that the free speech is precedence over people safety and it must protected at any cost . However I believe hateful and racist content shouldnot be tolerated and therefore must be abolished from internet.
To sum up,Some citizens agree that the government has the right to censor what is spreed online in order to make internet a safely environment ,others disagree as it undermine freedom of speech. however , I think government should protect its citezens an any cost.
