It is said that video games could give players educational values. However, the others do not agree with this motion because video games do more harm than good. In my opinion, I agree with this despite of some dismerits it can bring to them.
On one hand, video games allow students to gain some knowledge as well as educational values. First of all, students can practice their bassic skills without traveling. Many learners have a tendency to learn at home much more than going to school under the sunny weather. Therefore, they caneasily have a break after a long day working on books. They choose playing video games where they can update their basic skills such as typing or seeing. For instance, games like Minecraft or Roblox reqiuired players to work a lot. Secondly, it is necessary for learners to learn good values, too. Relaxing by playing games is a perfect choice, which can bring about some values like patience or responsibility. Home-studiers need to be patient when doing something and take responsibility on what they have done. The examples for this are Among Us and Temple Run which are very hard to win.
On another hand, video games could waste an amount of time. If players spend their time on games too much, they will feel ill. However, offline games do not often be saved. On the next day, everything that they do will disappear. That is why it wastes their time. For examples, Poki is a place where students have a lot of types of games to play, but becomes a waste of time. Additionally, violence may have a high percentage to appear when learners play video games. Today, game-makers have created several games include violence and horror screens and jumpscares as well. Those kinds of things affect badly to people’s brains, especially children. Some will become violent while the others have depression. For instance, a kid who played too much video games had killed their parents because he thought they can revive.
In conclusion, educational values in video games appeared a lot, but there are still much more drawbacks that citizens should do to reduce. We need to prevent these disadvantages and home-studiers should mange their time perfectly.
