Many people consider staying in a hotel while they are going to travel abroad, and majority of them think that it’s a great venue to meet travelers from other countries or regions. However, I don’t think that regarding a hotel as a place to make more friends when travel isn’t the right approach.
First of all, hotel is very big and private. The meaning is that there are so many people staying there and all the rooms are very private compared to other types of accommodations such as hostels, and bnbs. Most of the customers who book the hotel either as a resting place for their vacation or business trip. Even there are common areas like restaurants or swimming pools to talk to the random people, but most of the people prefer to spending time with their family, partner, or friends rather than talking to the strangers.
Moreover, not much activities to engage with the people who are staying in the hotel are able in the hotel, whereas, other types of the stays, so there are less chances to get to new friends. Some of the tourists are going for the all-inclusive so they already have set schedule for their rest of the trip. Also, the type of people who are coming to hotel are with more secure group of people, so it will not be easy to get through those people.
In conclusion, if the person is willing to make a new friend while traveling, they are better off to find different type of accommodations since the nature of hotel.
