The majority of people commonly in their career paths face with the dilemma of seeking advice from their family members and friends or choose by themselves. This essay will discuss both aspects and my own opinion will be pointed out.
On the one hand, some individuals consider that being supported by families or close ones is advisable to achieve high accomplishments in career. Since they may have wide range of experiences during their lifetime. They believe that parents will never guide their children wrong. For example, young adults are used to be in a shadow of their parents and that is why sometimes it is better for them to seek an advice from parents.
On the other hand, focusing on personal preferences and priorities generally helps to build clear direction to the right career. In fact, no one knows our strengths and weaknesses better than us. For example, selected work by parents or friends may be not familiar to us, as parents want to see us as a doctor or lawyer, however in depth of our heart we want to be a painter. Moreover, if humans choose a job based on their ambitions and goals, it will be a key factor to be a professional on their workplace, which helps to reach high job satisfaction.
It is clearly evident from the aforementioned points that career decisions should be a matter of personal choice. Hence, in my opinion, it is all right to consult our parents, but the final decision should always be taken by us.
