Nowadays, some people think that in the modern era, traditional physical landmarks and historical monuments are not necessarily for a nation’s identity because of digital world, while others believe that these sites are more important than ever. I strongly disagree with the first point of view because I believe that such sites are more essential than ever, it preserving national identity and cultural continuity.
First and foremost, traditional physical landmarks and historical monuments provide a connection to history that digital world cannot fully replace. Visiting places such as historical buildings connect the people directly and emotional way with history. For example, Soroca fortress, one of the oldest building with an major impact, when you visit the building, you directly connect with the history and you relive the emotions through the atmosphere of that room.
Moreover, these places play a crucial role in education and cultural preservation. Schools often organize trips to museums and monuments to help people understand their heritage in a more engaging way. Such experience foster respect for history and past generations. For example, our school organize a lot of trips to museum where is telling about history and past generations and their way of life.
I believe that physical landmarks also support turism am national economy. Countries like Egipt, Italy, French attract milion of visitor who come specifically to see the national landmarks and historical sites.
In conclusion, despite the rise of digital technology, I believe that national landmarks remain vital for preserving identity, education of citizens and maintaining cultural haritage.
