Nowadays, the government is inquiring the public about for what they should spend budget. As a result, there is a suggestion about devoting money to increase the number of works of art such as paintings and statues in the cities to enhance the view of the city. Although this type of expense can bring some benefits to the town, I am of the opinion that there are other problems for the government to deal with.
On the one hand, art can offer various benefits for the town. First and foremost, decorating the city with such works of art can attract more tourists, who are a big fond of them, to cities which can provide the local residents with regular incomes. The more statues and paintings the government put, the more tourists will visit by which the authorities can gain a financial profit. In addition, this kind of campaigns can also attract some film makers to make films in such a beautiful place. If they decide to make movies, the country will get a hefty amount of money from them as a tax.
On the other hand, there are more severe issues for the government to find solutions. One of them could be the air pollution in cities which causes various both health and environmental problems in the location. However, this may be tackled if the government spend enough money on enhancing public transportation from which people get used to. As a result, due to the less motion of vehicles in the public areas, people will no longer suffer from the above mentioned problems. Moreover, the public services should also be developed, especially in rural areas, within the financial help of the government to build new hospitals, and schools, as well. By doing so, they can improve the quality of life in any locations.
To conclude, while the art has its place in terms of being attractive and profitable on the financial side, the local problems should be prioritized by the government due to severe effects of them.
