While today’s world is dependant heavily on fossil fuels, There is an ongoing debate whether goverments should force taxes on these fuels to reduce their consumption and help the environment. As this matter has multiple viewpoints and arguments, this vigenette tries to be as thorough as possible, discussing different aspects of tax on fossil fuels.
The supporters of the idea are mainly concerned about the effects of fossil fuels on planet Earth. They believe that the imposed tax on these fuels can be used to help environment to defy the adverse effects of fossil fuels. This is to say that the fossil fuels are an imposing threat to the environment and the money to overshadow these effects can be obtained from these taxes. Furthermore the tax money itself can be a refraining factor for using these products by the people. For example, After Canada officials imposed the environment tax of 2% on gas in their country, the amount of weekly gas consumption of the country is down by 15%.
On the other hand, people who are against these types of taxes believe that there are multiple options to choose when trying to reduce energy consumtopn rather than forcing tax. To support their argument they state that more than 20% percent of the gathered tax is filling the governement pockets instead of reaching environmentalists who try to save the planet. They also beleive that if these taxes were to be fixed on all fossil fuel products they could damage the refinaries financially which eventaully would cause loweing of the standards for produced fuels over more financial effeciency, causing more damage to environment.
In conclusion, it appears that imposing taxes on fossil fuels could be beneficiary for the environment and the society. This is as long as the close monitoring the chain of supply to keep the quality of products as before. Also more observation must be taken place by the governing body and people to ensure the faithful transaction of the gathered tax money to places where the actual battle against the threats of fossil fuels is ongoing.
