Some believe that international tourists should pay more than domestic tourists when they visit a cultural or historical site. I strongly agree that foreign visitors should be charged an international rate because the revenues gained can be contributed to the local residents to support the community welfare and infrastructure enhancement.
Receiving extra revenue means more funds will certainly be obtained, hence can be used to support the local community that hold a pivotal role in maintaining the attraction site. The revenues received can be utilized to increase the life quality of the local residents, since many of them rely on the tourist attraction site as their main source of income. Hence, an adequate proportion can be contributed to the local people.
Furthermore, a proper facility should be provided in order to attract more visitors and offer the best service for tourists. Therefore, revenues obtained can be used to build a better infrastructure. For instance, providing a hop on and off bus facility for tourists to get around and explore the site. Other than this, new facilities such as restaurants or other entertainment spots can also be constructed using the funds gained from international tourists.
In conclusion, while it is true that both foreign and local visitors received the same service, I personally believe that it is wise to charge more fees for the foreign visitors. The funds gained can be used to construct new facilities for visitors thus ensuring the best experience when visiting the site while also supporting the local community.
