In this era of globalization, majority of people are travelling to different countries to explore diffferent cultures and heritage. Few individuals argue that international visitors should be charged more for their visit to cultural and historical places then the locals. I completely agree with this notion and will elucidate my view with suitable examples and a reasoned conclusion.
The main supporting reason is that it will increase the value of these tourist spots. Making them respect our culture and past. Next, locals have contributed their fair share by paying taxes for the maintenance of these historical places therefore the tourist are not paying a higher cost, it is the locals who are getting discounted price for the tickets. The second reason is, for the further development and renovation of these places , revenue has to be generated which is ndifficult for the government if the entry fee is charged less from the foreign visitors. To exemplify, constant renovations are required for the maintaenance and proper functioning of these places, which is not easy without proper fundings.
However, i also believe that the ticket cost for the international visitors should be kept within limits and they should not be charged excessively as compared to the locals as it will have a detrimental effect on the government relation with the tourist and subsequently, can lead to the downfall of tourism in that country.
In conclusion, due to the constant need of maintaenance and renovations it is agreeable to keep the entry fee for foreigners higher as compared to locals which are visiting these places more frequently.
