It is widely believed that the tourism industry has been integral part of countries’ industry. Some argue that to pay visit cultural places, the alien tourists should face the higher entrance fees, while indigenous people should be offered at lower price. This essay will take a firm stance against the former claim due to economic and cultural reasons.
To begin with, introducing the higher charge to the international tourists contributes to the economic failure remarkably. These days, the tourism industry has become an indispensable part of nation’s economy where it generates new businesses and contributes to the growth domestic product (GDP). The tourism industry brings about the opportunities to expand national and local business. In fact, the more tourists enter to a country, the more business would be created to meet tourists’ expectations. Moreover, myriads of governments are constantly striving to elevate their GDP, which directly associates with the economic flourishment extraordinary. Therefore, if the policy makers inflict further fees on foreign visitors, they might decline to their travel, leading to a reduced tourism figure in the host country.
Additionally, spoiling the overall image of a community’s culture would be another tragedy. Indeed, when people outside of the country face expensive charge to visit the historical places of the aboriginal country, they will not display an interest to visit that country whatsoever. This trend, if continued, visitors broadcast and exchange false information about the country, which can result in damage to their culture internationally. Having leaked this fake sharing information, government will face a difficult situation in terms of their tourism industry. Moreover, local individuals will lose the opportunities to communicate with foreign visitors and promote their cultural background through sharing thoughts and notions. This type of connection explicitly related to cultural promotion, according to socialists.
In conclusion, there is no advantages in imposing the higher charges to foreign tourists since such policies will contribute to a disaster in light of host country’s culture and economy.
