Nowadays, homeschooling is trendy because parents want to spend time with their children because they think good families must teach children themselves if they want to be good parents. I agree; the main requirement to be a good parent is having time to support them. This article will explain the benefits when families spend time together and three skills a person needs to be a good parent.

Firstly, in my opinion, the good development of children, which is important, is bound with parents. If they want to build a relationship with their children, they must take time; for instance, teach them how to spell, write the alphabet, sing simple songs that are easy to pronounce, or how to do daily routines. However, these simple activities, if done again and again and enough time is spent, will soon create a bond.

Secondly, good reasons a person needs to be a good parent include two main skills. First, the important thing for parents who want to be great is time. Time is precious because many times parents must go to work, then they assign a nanny or mentor to their children. Second is being a role model; some developmental theories state that children must have parents as role models. If children are mentored by a nanny or other person, problems sometimes arise; for example, in Thailand, when parents must go to work, they give their children to their grandmothers to nurture, which can lead to issues such as substance abuse or crime.

In conclusion, the well-developed children from good parents and those who want to be a good family need two things: time spent teaching children and being a role model to their children. Having these skills makes it easier to be a good parent.
