Most individuals believe that becoming aware of the world’s news is crucial as a subject in students’ curriculum, while others argue paying this subject is inefficient for students. In this essay, I will discuss both views and express my opinion.
Raising awareness of global issues is useful for students so that they pay attention to what is happening in the world. One advantage of this is that the students can show support for good causes on social media and make a change in the world. For example, regarding the social and environmental issues occurring in the world such as wars and climate changes, students’ knowledge of them can be effective in avoiding them in the future and finding the best way to protect the world. Therefore, consciousness of anything not only increases students’ knowledge of events in the world but also causes them to find a way to either develop or avoid them.
Some people believe that knowing about the world’s news as a subject can be a waste of time for students. Indeed, it is vital to learn topics that can be positive for them and help them to achieve their aim. Raising awareness of news of the global issue may negatively affect students, For instance, enquiring them about soldiers killing children in war or accidents.and also can deviate them from other important subjects like mathematics, physics, and similar matters. Therefore, it is better that students focus on their primary subject related to the schools.
In my opinion, students’ access to global problems should be classified and suitable for their age so that they do not have bad negatives on mental health. Also, they must pay attention to the significant issues that assist them to learn both new abilities and knowledge that will allow them to solve problems related to the world in the future.
In conclusion, increasing awareness of students about global issues plays a significant role in raising the social and mental health of the students. However, this awareness is purposeful and suitable to their age and mental ability that prevent negative effects. In fact, creating a balance between students; primary subjects and awareness about global issues are the best way to grow the awareness generation both responsible and resistant for future challenges.
