Nowadays, there has been a growing belief among individuals that science subjects, such as Mathematics and Physics should primarily be taught to young learners in schools. Meanwhile, others claim that subjects like art and music is not less important than science subjects. I personally believe that children should definitely be involved in subjects which involve critical thinking and complex calculations to enhance their mental abilities.
To start with, when pupils are educated with a high level of understanding of nature and science, their brain are more likely to be adjusted to solve complex Math problems in a straightforward way. Children who are encouraged to be taught Geography and Physics, are able to acknowledge the real-life situations better and acquire a high level of understanding of their surroundings. Moreover, when learners are more engaged to study technical fields, may be employeed in a high-paid job in the future. For example, research conducted in NASA revealed that many workers have an academic qualification in technical fields.
Detractors to this viewpoint, on the other hand, would argue that studying art and music would assist learners find a way to express their feelings in an aesthetic way. Creative subjects like these rather contribute significantly to individuals’ personal and professional lives. Furthermore, since not all the students are able to understand the mathematical expressions, nor have a huge interest. Forcing them to prioritize technical subjects may lead to frustration and diminish in interest in learning process. For instance, in Azerbaijan, children have an opportunity to choose whether they want to study aesthetic or science subjects.
In conclusion, yet many people have formed a notion that art and music have a positive impact in the academic life of learners, I firmly believe that students should be prioritized to study technical fields which will impact their future career in a good way.
