In recent years, many developed countries have significantly improved their educational system, providing more facilities to the younger generation. For this reason, it became a subject of debate, where some individuals believe that infants should start their formal education quite young, while others argue that they should begin after turning seven years old. In this essay, I will discuss both sides of the argument and present my opinion.
On the one hand, those who support the idea of starting education earlier than usual assert that this is quite important to the child’s fundamental development, allowing him to gain several essential skills. In addition, many scientists have researched that children learn more rapidly, comparing them to a sponge. They declare that this phenomenon happens due to the unfulfilled brain and the ability to form numerous connections through experience. Therefore, it is considered to be a considerable argument for this idea.
On the other hand, proponents of launching an educational path after seven years of age think that it allows children to grow individually and physically. Keeping this plan may be a great benefit in terms of building strong connections with peers and being taught valuable skills that won’t be learnt at school such as budgeting and self-sustainability. Furthermore, a child might not be as hyperactive as he could be at an earlier age.
In conclusion, while starting school later is something innovative and may bring some unexpected advantages, the current system, which includes the idea of starting early, has proved its efficiency. Therefore, I think that youngsters should begin their formal education earlier.
