Some people argue that children should spend less time on screens, whike others believe that they should be free to use phone for as much as they want to. I understand the possible threats internet creates on screens for kids, so I totally agree with that limiting time for the internet is important.
On the one hand, technology has become something essential in our life, we all need a smartphone to update important news from the world and our closed friends’ current lives, so banning a child from smartphones can ted lead to stress, disobedience and sadness. In developed countries, it is also common for a child to have at least a digital device to communicate with his friends aper school, if he does not ha own. In Jane, he is more likely to be made fun of, or even bullied. and slowly develops fear of missing out (FOMO) in adulthood. Many people also argue that controlling kids too harshly on something will only backfire and the kids might just find a more discreet and sneaky stealthy way to use it, making them completely exposed to the internet without parents’ supervision.
On the other hand, limiting a child from screentime to a healthy time will help him in the future. While completely banning a person something makes them disobey and cause arguements, instead saying that they can have this much time of screen time per day makes them more comfortable about the transparency and feel that they are respected and cared about, not controlled. Moreover, kids who spend too much time on a smartphone are more likely to develop mental unstable mental and un intense fear of being missing sing out due to how social media makes pepple people feel inadequate. Social media can also make real life relationships feel less exciting due to the fast paced contents making people slowly get used to the digital world.
In conclusion, maintaining a balance between real and digital world is the best solution for both the children and the caretakers. It gives kids time to entertain, communicate with friends but also stay away from potential dangers in social media.
