Nowadays, online streaming services for films and series are commonly used, that is why there is a thought that cinemas will one day close down.
To begin with, in those places there are big screens, which makes watching a movie more comfortable. However you are seeing video content with other visitors, so you can not discuss and comment on it. Another disadvantage is that in the cinema it is not allowed to eat food except popcorn, water and fizzy drinks ordered in the cinema hall.
Secondly, in the cinemas there are only a few media, from which viewers have to choose, while there are no limits on the internet. Moreover, usually it is cheaper to buy films rather than tickets. As a result, people prefer to watch them at home on their laptops or even projectors, eating chips, pizza or other tasty dishes and stop the video when they want, which is an advantage of online streaming platforms.
On the other hand, there are some individuals who go to cinemas in order to buy some crunchy popcorn, but I believe that it is not an advantage anymore, as it also became available at home. It is possible to get it in every market and even cook it in the microwave at the kitchen.
To sum up, these days cinemas have become less popular than they were a few years ago, because it is preferred to watch films at home on owners’ rules. Also other benefit of those places are available at people’s houses.
