There is a debate surrounding the significance of environmental issues as global challenges is ongoing. Some argue that these problems should be addressed by the government, while others believe that individuals should take responsibility for them. In my opinion, I consider that people have the responsibility to deal with this issue.
To begin with, pollution has reached unprecedented levels due to the extensive production by large companies, industries, and factories. It is essential to implement laws that establish control and promote the use of sustainable resources. For example, governments can educate the public about the consequences of greenhouse gas emissions and encourage the use of public transportation, such as buses and trains, instead of personal vehicles. With this, the number of cars on the road will reduce and the air will be cleaner. In other words, governments have the power to come up awareness programs that educate society on the importance of being environmentally friendly.
On the other hand, individuals also need to be educated about environmental issues and the ways to reduce the damage. For instance, in Colombia, various strategies focus on teaching about ecosystems and how to care for them. In schools, children are taught how to recycle and sort waste, while advertisements throughout the city promote environmentally friendly practices. Among those messages include the importance of taking shorter showers, using recycled paper, and implementing techniques like solar energy.
In conclusion, environmental awareness is a shared responsibility that extends beyond governments to the general population. Everyone should deploy their best processes to conserve the environment as naturally as possible.
