Education is the most powerful tool for achieving success. In order to be personally and professionally independent you must have to be a well-educated person. Exams are the proof that how much have you learnt during your studies. The point of discussion is that some people think that exams are a good way of assessing a student’s level, while, other people believe that they put unnecessary pressure on young learners, and tell us very little about their actual ability.
Exams are a good way of assessing a student’s level, because when a teacher teaches throughout the year it is their right to know that whether the students understand it or not. Exams is the only way that will encourage students to study due to the fear of failure otherwise students’ do not study. Exams creates a competition among the students so they get accustomed of doing hard-work. For-Example, IELTS exam is also conducted, to have an idea of whether the student know how to, read, write, listen, and speak English.
Some people believe that exams put unnecessary pressure on the young learners and tell us very little about their actual ability. Exams are the proof of students’ actual ability so how can we consider that it does not have any linking with exams. If we stop conducting exams while, considering it as an unnecessary thing, students will get habituated of not giving exams, and when in any phase of their life they would have to give, this will create a huge difficulty for them. We can say that apart from the exams students may have another kind of skills, and they can adopt them as a career.
In my opinion, it is necessary to conduct exams, as it is a good way of assessing a student’s level consequently, it talks about their actual ability.
