There is an opinion that farming meat is inappropriate and damaging for the environment, and the idea of farming insects for food instead is much better. Although farming meat is destructive for nature and the intake of insects would be appropriate due to its negative impact on plants, I side with those who believe that meat is the main source of energy for humans and cannot be replaced totally.
Some people tend to think that farming insects for consumption instead of meat would be a proper decision. One considerable argument is that some species may contribute to plants negatively by eating their leaves and roots as well as spreading different diseases from which flowers may die. As a consequence, nature might be destroyed and the possibility of life on Earth would be reduced, since the plants produce oxygen and protect the soil. For instance, an immense number of plants are being destroyed by insects in forests and that is why a solution of farming insects for food would be appropriate to protect the wealth of nature. However, farming insects cannot completely be a substitute for meat as it does not contain all necessary vitamins, minerals and substances that a person needs in as meat does.
Despite the arguments above, meat is considered to be the main source of energy for humanity due to its high content of iron, proteins, fats and different vitamins, which are highly important for strengths, growth and a healthy immune system. Consequently, not eating meat would lead to reduction of different vitamins’ levels and cause the worsening of health, including constant fatigue, headaches, a pale skin, issues with skin, memory, frequent illnesses, and etc.To illustrate this point, there are lots of examples in India when people’s overall health is exposed to deterioration because of poor levels of B12, iron and proteins, which means that farming meat cannot be replaced totally.
In conclusion, while it is true that farming meat is harmful for the environment and farming insects could protect nature due to insects’ negative impact on plants, I’m firmly convinced that meat cannot be substituted completely, since it contains all necessary substances that are quite essential for our health.
